Project Science Literacy
Another component of our education outreach program has been to work in partnership with the Midland chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and Mid-Michigan section of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) to develop resource materials and learning programs for teachers. The three organizations have developed a training resource for K-12 teachers in the area of polymers and plastics. Working sessions for up to 20 teachers are scheduled throughout the year. Resources such as class lessons and some materials are provided as part of the sessions. Project Science Literacy costs our section about $500 per year.
